How the AI extraction works
When you upload a document, our AI analyzes the image pixel by pixel. It identifies text regions, understands the spatial relationships between them, and determines which data belongs in which column and row. Headers are recognized and placed in the first row. Line items are separated correctly. Numbers are formatted as values (not text) so you can immediately use Excel formulas like SUM, AVERAGE, and VLOOKUP.
For multi-page documents like bank statements or lengthy invoices, ScanToExcel processes each page and intelligently merges the results. If the same column headers appear on every page, they're deduplicated — you get one seamless spreadsheet, not repeated headers.
