Traditional image to Excel tools run character recognition first and then guess where the column breaks are from the spacing between letters. A phone photo taken at a slight angle, a table without ruling lines, or a header that spans two rows breaks that guess — and you end up moving cells around by hand. A vision model skips that step entirely: it sees the whole picture, recognises the grid, and maps every value to the cell it visually belongs to.
Column boundaries come from what the image looks like, so borderless tables and multi-row headers survive the trip into Excel.
Amounts, quantities, and dates are typed correctly in the .xlsx — SUM and pivot tables work straight away, no text-to-column cleanup.

The model knows a column labelled "Qty" holds integers and "Total" holds currency, so misreads get corrected instead of propagated.
